Delaware police report:

A Delaware man was arrested following a traffic stop on Tuesday and is facing drug charges. Rickie L. Severt, 23, 226 W. Central Ave., was pulled over by police at 3:49 p.m. Tuesday near the corner of Liberty and William streets. Officers discovered drug-related items in Severt’s vehicle. He was arrested and charged with possession of drug abuse instruments.

A Delaware man is facing multiple charges following his arrest on Wednesday evening. At 11:13 p.m. Wednesday, police conducted a traffic stop near the junction of Locust Curve and West Central Avenue, during which a male engaged in improper handling of a firearm. William G. McCurdy, 56, 31 Equestrian Way, was arrested and charged with two counts of improperly handling firearms inside a motor vehicle and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs. He was arraigned Thursday in Delaware Municipal Court. His next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 30. McCurdy was arrested again on Thursday and charged with criminal damaging in connection with an alleged act of vandalism.
