Big Walnut Historical Society’s ‘harvest dinner’ Nov. 14

The Big Walnut Area Historical Society’s annual “Harvest Candlelight Dinner” will be at 6 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Myers Inn Museum in Sunbury.

Myers Inn curator Polly Horn said the meal will consist of a home-cooked turkey dinner with all the trimmings, served by costumed waiters, in the historic 1816 home of one of Sunbury’s founders, Lawrence Myers.

Horn said the Myers Inn Museum’s original one-room house and Tavern Room will be converted for seating guests, and a gospel group will provide entertainment for the evening. The museum gift shop will be open and tours of the facility are optional.

The cost is $30 per person, Horn said, and funds raised at the event are used to maintain the museum.

Horn said seating is limited to the museum’s two rooms so reservations must be made through Big Walnut Area Historical Society President Damon Bower by calling 614-745-4375.

The Myers Inn Museum is located at 45 S. Columbus St. in Sunbury.
