SourcePoint will hold its seventh annual Veterans Day ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 11, to honor local veterans.

The morning celebration will feature a breakfast buffet, ceremony and awards presentation. The event will be at 800 Cheshire Road.

All veterans and active military personnel are invited to enjoy a complimentary breakfast at an 8 or 9 a.m. seating. Other guests can attend breakfast for $8 per person and should purchase advance tickets by Nov. 2. Seating is limited, and reservations are required. Call 740-203-2381 for reservations.

Following breakfast, the ceremony will begin at 9:45 a.m. The ceremony’s theme is “Heroes Through Time: We Were There” and will feature portrayals of military heroes and those who supported them, from the Revolutionary War through the Vietnam War. The portrayals were researched and written by Dwight Cimino, Delaware County Veterans Association chaplain.

The Outstanding Veteran Award will be presented to Jim Krebs, an Army veteran who served during World War II, and Friend of the Veterans Awards will be presented to Tina Francis, a local teacher, and Carolyn Kay Riggle, mayor of Delaware.

The ceremony was coordinated by a volunteer committee, including Cimino; Larry Dawson, past commander of American Legion Post 115; Don DeShazo, Delaware County Veterans Services executive director; Richard A. Doritty, American Legion Post 457, Delaware County Veterans Association; Ed Hendricks, SourcePoint volunteer; Debbie McMillan, SourcePoint Enrichment Center program committee member and volunteer; Joe McMillan, SourcePoint volunteer; and Connie Miller, SourcePoint volunteer; with support from Joan Pearse, SourcePoint arts and education manager, and Mary Homan, SourcePoint community events specialist.
