The trial has been set for a masseuse accused of raping a woman during a massage.

Isaac J. Covey, 30, of Pickerington appeared in Delaware County Common Pleas Court on Sept. 12 and entered a not guilty plea to four counts of rape, first-degree felonies and one count of gross sexual imposition, a third-degree felony.

At the hearing Delaware County Common Pleas Judge Everett Krueger accepted his not guilty plea and scheduled a trial for Dec. 6 at 8:30 a.m.

The trial is estimated to take two days and any plea agreements must be filed seven days prior to trial.

According to a bill of particulars filed by prosecutors on Sept. 23, the charges all stem from an incident in Delaware County on March 7, 2016.

In the bill of particulars, Assistant Delaware County Prosecutor, Cory Goe, says that Covey, a licensed masseuse, invited a woman to a location in Delaware County for a free massage.

Goe writes that during the massage Covey touched the woman’s crotch without consent on two separate occasions. The document alleges that he then wiped that area with a warm towel before putting his body on the end of the bed and performing oral sex on the woman, without consent.

The bill of particulars further alleges that after performing oral sex he touched the woman’s crotch a third time. These four events are the basis of the four rape charges because they were all performed without the woman’s consent.

After those offenses, Covey offered to give the woman a chest massage. For the chest massage, Covey allegedly put a paper towel over the woman’s breasts, but later moved it and continued to massage the woman’s chest.

The chest massage is the basis for the gross sexual imposition charge.

Covey was released from the Delaware County Jail after posting his $15,000 bond in September.

According to the Ohio Revised Code, the penalty for a first-degree felony is three to eight years in prison and the penalty for a third-degree felony is between nine to 36 months in prison.

If convicted on the charges, Covey would be required to register as a sex offender.
