SARN Retreat planned

The Delaware Sexual Assault Response Network (SARN) Retreat will take place in Delaware from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5.

Chesrown joins fight against distracted driving

Chesrown Chevy Buick GMC in Delaware has partnered with Dom Tiberi of 10TV to bring Maria’s Message campaign to the community. The purpose is to promote safe driving.

As of mid-October Tiberi has taken Maria’s Message to 69 schools, spoken to more than 50,000 students and has purchased 30 distracted driving simulators.

In the month of November a driving simulator will be at the dealership, 1701 Columbus Pike. No appointment is necessary. The public can stop by during business hours to experience the simulator and the effects of distracted driving.

Olentangy school board to meet

The Olentangy Local School District Board of Education will have a special meeting at district’s administrative office, 814 Shanahan Road, 5:30 p.m. Thursday. A district spokesman said the board will go directly into executive session as part of the hiring process for a new treasurer. The board is expected to tentatively announce it’s selection at its Nov. 10 meeting.

Cemetery presentation at Delaware main library

John Tetz, a volunteer at Stratford Ecological Center, 3083 Liberty Road, will give a presentation about the ecological society and the preservation of its Stratford Cemetery at the Delaware District County Library, 84 E. Winter St., from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today.

US 42 down to one lane

US 42 will be reduced to one lane of traffic between Concord Road and Owen Fraley Road from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday for pavement work. Traffic will be maintained by signs and flaggers. Completion is set for Friday.
