Sakata delegation enjoys Hamburger Inn breakfast

A delegation from Delaware’s sister city — Sakata, Japan — enjoyed breakfast with local officials at the Hamburger Inn in downtown Delaware Monday morning. The Sakata delegation arrived for a four-day stay in Delaware last week. From left to right are Andrew Brush, Delaware City Council member; Tetsuo Yoshikawa, vice chairman of the Sakata Chamber of Commerce; Hitomi Mullen, an interpreter for the delegation; Delaware Mayor Carolyn Kay Riggle; Ken Matsuta, professor and assistant to the president of Tohoku University of Community Service and Science; Koji Hori, vice chairman of Sakata City Council; Kotaro Murakami, superintendent of the Sakata City Board of Education; and Rika Abe, assistant section chief of the International Exchange Section, attending as secretary of the delegation. The delegation also met Delaware County commissioners Monday morning and with Delaware City Council members Monday night.
