Once the dust settled and the votes counted Tuesday night the Delaware County Agriculture Society had elected Pat Paykoff as its new president.
“There were nine people on the ballot running for seven positions.” said Sandy Kuhn, general manger. “Anyone who is a member of the Ag Society could come and vote.”
Kuhn said that Frank Rienhart, a past president of the fair board, was asked if he would like to run again. “He chose not to run again,” she said. “There were also no motions from the floor.”
According to Kuhn, there are 21 positions on the board with seven coming to the end of their term every year. “Every year seven of the positions are up,” she said. “For a person to run they have to get 10 members signatures on a petition.”
Tuesday night’s ballot had nine members of the society — Pat Allen, Jackie Colflesh, Lindsay Hope, Robert Moore, Tiffany Rankin, P.J. Terry, H. Chip Thomson, Kirt Trimble and Harold B. Wolford — running for the seven open positions on the board.
Kuhn said the new officer team is now Paykoff, president, Aaron Roll, vice president; Dan Huffman, treasurer; Tom Wright, director of racing and Kuhn, secretary.
Other society members elected to the board for non-officer positions were Lindsay Hope, Tiffany Rankin, P.J. Terry, H. Chip Thomson and Kirt Trimble.
Kuhn said that Moore and Wolford were not elected to any of the open positions on the board.
The fee to become a member of the society is $2.
