Molly Davenport has joined the city of Delaware’s economic development department as an economic development specialist and business concierge.

The Delaware native graduated from Bowling Green State University in August with a degree in public relations and marketing. She previously was a social media assistant in the marketing & communications department at BGSU. She assisted Preservation Parks as a marketing intern last year. Davenport is a Delaware native.

“I am excited to start a new adventure with the City of Delaware and look forward to working with local business owners to ensure the continuous improvement of their businesses while also expanding the city,” Davenport said. “I am fortunate to be returning to my hometown.”

Davenport will assist Economic Development Director Sean Hughes in providing development services to more than 1,900 businesses citywide.

“City of Delaware residents recently let us know how important economic development is to them through the community survey,” Hughes said. “Making sure our two-person economic development team has the proper mix of talent, skills and knowledge is critical to our success. Molly will be key to us growing our relationships with existing businesses so that we can help make sure they stay and grow in our community. Having a business concierge approach to our existing businesses helps us attract new businesses because everyone wants to be in a community that supports them.”
