The Delaware Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred at approximately 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday on State Route 257, near mile post 4, in Concord Township, Delaware County.

Calvin Thomas Richards, 20, of West Jefferson, Ohio, was operating a maroon 1997 Honda Accord northbound on State Route 257. Moriah Khadijah Durant, 33, of Delaware, Ohio, was operating a red 2015 Hyundai Sonata southbound on State Route 257.

Richards drove left of center striking Mrs. Durant’s vehicle.

Moriah Durant had two passengers in her vehicle, Steven Ashley Durant, 33, of Delaware, and Rosaria Durant, 4, of Delaware. Moriah Durant and Steven Durant were transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital with critical injuries.

Rosaria Durant was pronounced deceased at Dublin Methodist Hospital. Richards was transported to Grant Medical Center with critical injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, Liberty Township Fire Department, Concord Township Fire and Rescue, Scioto Fire Department, Delaware County EMS and Med Flight.

Next of kin notification has been made.

Alcohol/drug use is unknown and the crash remains under investigation.
