A Westerville man was indicted by a Delaware County grand jury Friday after authorities said he raped a Lewis Center woman in December 2014.

Mohammad A. Mustafa, 36, of 396 Westgreen Lane, Westerville, was indicted on two counts of rape, which are first-degree felonies; two counts of kidnapping, first-degree felonies; and a charge of possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony.

An arraignment in Delaware County Common Pleas Court has not been scheduled but the case will be heard by Judge David Gormley.

Westerville police said that on Dec. 12, 2014, a 25-year-old Lewis Center woman called them to allege that she had been raped by Mustafa.

The woman reportedly told police she had met Mustafa a few days earlier and the pair had begun to send text messages back and forth. On the night of Dec. 12, she agreed to go to Mustafa’s home on Westgreen Lane and that’s when he assaulted her.

She then ran from the home and knocked on a neighbor’s door to report the crime.

Westerville police said Mustafa has denied the charges.

A warrant has been issued for Mustafa’s arrest.
