Ice storm headed our way

A potentially dangerous ice storm is looking more and more likely this weekend, according to weather forecasters.

A large area of freezing rain and sleet will stretch from Texas to Ohio. Massive power outages can be expected across Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri.

Across central Ohio, freezing rain will begin Friday after midnight. The latest computer models show snow, sleet and freezing rain across central and southern Ohio into Saturday.

Up to a quarter-inch of ice buildup is expected by midday Saturday. Travel could become dangerous as roads will be glazed with a thick layer of ice.

A second round of freezing rain and sleet is possible Saturday night into Sunday morning.
