Book, fine art sale at Powell library

On Jan. 28, from 9 a.m. to noon, the Friends of the Delaware County District Library, will hold a Bargain Book and Fine Art Sale at the Powell Branch Library, located at 460 S. Liberty, Powell.

All proceeds go back to the Delaware County District Library. Bargain books of every genre, best sellers, nonfiction, children, and young adults will be available at bargain prices. Fifteen to 20 fine art pieces that have been donated to the Friends of the Delaware County District Library will be on sale.

Genoa sets Police Academy

On Tuesday, March 21, The Genoa Township Police Department will be hosting its 11th Citizen’s Police Academy.

It will convene every Tuesday evening from 7-9 p.m. until we graduate in May. The 10-week program gives participants insight into the profession of law enforcement and the operations of The Genoa Township Police Department.

Topics during the academy sessions will focus on typical policing activities and include areas such as;use of force and less lethal weapons such as the Taser, traffic stops, SWAT operations, a jail tour and a firearms live-shooting experience.
