Delaware police report:

A Christmas tree was destroyed on a porch on North Liberty Street Sunday morning just after midnight. The owner told police the top was torn off and thrown into the neighbor’s yard. Police found that most of the ornaments on the tree were broken. The owners gave police a description of the vandal but police could find no one nearby matching that description.

A driver failed to yield while making a left turn onto South Liberty Street Sunday at 2:40 a.m. When an officer pulled the car over, he smelled alcohol on the driver. The 20-year-old man was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and with underage consumption.

The back door to a home on South Washington Street was kicked in Friday afternoon. The owner said several small items were missing.

Officers observed a couple stumbling in the area of South Washington Street and Park Avenue Friday night. Officers believed both people to be drunk and found both had mud on their clothes from when they had previously fallen. The couple admitted they had been drinking and admitted they were both under the age of 21. They were arrested, released to a sober party and issued a summons for underage consumption.

A man was checking for unlocked vehicles in the area of Ashburn Drive Monday morning after midnight. An investigation is ongoing.
