A month after its “Art For Your Ears” event, the Women’s City Club of Delaware will present its annual “Garden Tour” from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 28.

Normally private residential gardens will be open, with the Ohio State University Extension Master Gardeners of Delaware County on hand to answer questions.

“This promises to be the best garden tour yet,” said City Club spokeswoman Jo Ingles in an email. “We have some wonderful gardens on this year’s tour, complete with gorgeous patios and pool areas. Many of these homes are the ones people drive by and wonder what is behind those garden gates. Now they will know if they attend the tour.”

Tickets cost $10 at wccdelaware.org or $12 day of show; free to children under 12. “Ticket proceeds help provide sustainable, safe housing for low-income women in Delaware County,” the event’s flyer states.

The tour begins at the Women’s City Club, 135 N. Franklin St.

The City Club also held its inaugural “Art For Your Ears” fundraising event on May 16, which included a swap meet and concerts by local bands and a special guest, Charlie Huhn, the current lead singer for the rock band Foghat.

“The early afternoon activities were hampered by rain,” Ingles said. “At 6 p.m., the weather straightened out and we had a decent crowd. We got excellent feedback, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. We’re talking about doing another event next year.”
