Amber Alert issued for 4-year-old girl in central Ohio

COLUMBUS — An Amber Alert has been issued by the Columbus Police Department for a 4-year-old girl who was abducted early Monday.

The alert has been issued for the following regions in central Ohio: Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Hocking, Licking, Madison, Muskingum, Perry, Pickaway, and Union.

Police say the girl was taken in a running vehicle from the area of Chittenden Avenue and North 4th Street at around 7:50 a.m.

The vehicle is described as being a grey 2004 Chevy Impala with Ohio license plate GWF9395.

The girl’s name is Janylia Fails. She is described as being a black female who is about three feet tall and weighs 40 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a purple floral pattern jacket, blue jeans and black shoes.

The suspect’s name is unknown. He was described as a black male wearing a black coat.

Anyone who thinks they’ve spotted the child, the suspect or the vehicle is asked to call 911 or 1-877-AMBER-OH.
