Preschool open house set

Delaware Cooperative Preschool will hold its annual open house for prospective families on Feb. 16 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Parents are invited to meet their children’s teachers, learn about their preschool programs for ages 2-5 and enroll for the 2017 school year.

School is located at 55 W. Lincoln Ave., Delaware, the lower level of Asbury United Methodist Church. For informaton call 740-369-7808 or visit dcpkids.com.

Scioto Township sets meetings

The monthly meetings of the Scioto Township trustees is the first Wednesday of each month. Meetings are at 7 p.m. at the Township Hall, 373 Ostrander Road, Ostrander.

Trustees are Sandra Stults, Rodger C. Finks and Ralph Moseley; fiscal officer is Kathy Melvin.

Registration open for Parks programs

Preservation Parks of Delaware County has announced several February programs that require advanced registration, and in some cases, a fee for materials. Programs are listed below; those interested should note registration deadlines and visit www.preservationparks.com to register.

• Sunday, Feb. 12, 1 p.m. Make It, Take It: Dreamcatchers. Dreaming of warmer weather? Create your own dreamcatcher while enjoying hot chocolate, coffee or tea. Deer Haven Park, 4183 Liberty Road. Ages 7 and older; $10 fee; register by Feb. 5.

• Tuesday, Feb. 14, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Preschool Park Pals: The Ice Age. Travel back thousands of years to a cold, snowy landscape with amazing animals. A story and craft will help us explore this “cool” era. Deer Haven Park. Ages 4-5; free; register by Feb. 7.

• Thursday, Feb. 16, 10 a.m. Homeschool Adventures: The Ice Age. What’s the difference between an ice age and The Ice Age? We’ll meet some Ice Age animals and catch a glimpse of what Ohio looked like 10,000 years ago. Shale Hollow Park, 6320 Artesian Run. Ages 6-12; free; register by Feb. 9.

• Thursdays, Feb. 16 & 23, 6:30-8 p.m. Build-a-Bluebird-Box Workshops. Help promote wildlife in your backyard by providing nesting boxes for Eastern bluebirds. Deer Haven Park. All ages; $7 fee per box; register by Feb. 10.

‘Chocolate Fare’ at Asbury

Asbury United Methodist Church will host its annual “Chocolate Fare” Saturday, Feb. 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Visitors may enjoy desserts, with complimentary hot beverages, in the church’s festive Chocolate Café. There will also be many selections available for takeout, including whole cakes and pies.

Asbury United Methodist Church is at 55 W. Lincoln Ave. The phone number is 740-363-3611. The building is handicap-accessible from the rear parking lot.

Proceeds of the Chocolate Fare benefit United Methodist Women’s missions.
