Members of the “blue team” in Michael Freado’s world studies class at Dempsey Middle School hold their victory belt Thursday afternoon after winning “The Roman Rumble.” From left to right are Jude Miller, Braeden McGrady, Andrew Bourget, Logan Trimble, Rachel Mattox, Alex Koslow and Jacy Mox. The seventh-graders created signs, commercials and concession stands for a trivia contest in the style of a gladiator match. Students were given a topic at the start of each round and were asked to state as many facts as possible about the topics, which included the fall of Rome and the Middle Ages.
