COLUMBUS — Speaker of the Ohio House Clifford A. Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) has appointed State Rep. Rick Carfagna (R-Genoa Township) to serve as the designated House Majority Caucus member on the Statewide Emergency Services Internet Protocol Network Steering Committee.

The committee is tasked with advising the state on the implementation, operation, and maintenance of the statewide emergency services Internet protocol network. This network supports state and local government next-generation 9-1-1 services in order to ensure this vital public safety service is updated, effective, and cost-efficient.

“No matter where or when an emergency may arise in this state, all Ohioans deserve to have a dependable communications infrastructure in place to reach first responders,” said Carfagna.

“I look forward to working with the ESINet Steering Committee to ensure that the networks and technologies employed for these purposes are reliable, compatible, and provide the responsible levels of preparedness.”

Carfagna is serving his first term in the Ohio House. He represents the 68th House District, which includes the eastern half of Delaware County and all of Knox County.
