Main Street Delaware’s March 3 First Friday celebration will feature a “March for Art” with artworks by Delaware County children on display inside businesses throughout the historic downtown.
The downtown-wide gallery opening is sponsored by Canvas Creations for You, 325 S. Sandusky St. No. 206, which hosts paint nights, private events, fundraisers, and a walk-in paint studio.
Sidewalk chalk also will be available outside many businesses for budding young artists who wish to participate in the March for Art by decorating the downtown’s concrete canvas.
As always, many stores and restaurants will stay open late for the monthly First Friday event, which will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The student artworks will remain on display throughout the month.
“This event is a great way to promote the arts in Delaware,” said Susie Bibler, executive director of Main Street Delaware.
“The pride the students feel in having their artwork displayed in a local business is exciting. I hope everyone has a chance to come downtown on First Friday and throughout the month to see the creations of our community’s talented young artists.”
