First Thursday Recital Series welcomes organist

The First Thursday Noontime Recital Series, sponsored by Asbury United Methodist Church, will welcome organist Mark Meuser on Thursday, March 2, at 12:15 p.m. Mr. Meuser is the organist at Central College Presbyterian Church in Westerville. He also serves as Dean of the Columbus Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.

For his program, Meuser has chosen works by Gordon Jacob, Raymond Haan, Denis Bedard, and one of his own compositions, Aria. A retired math teacher from Gahanna High School, Meuser is the author of Class Encounters, a reflection on his teaching experiences.

There is no admission charge for the recital. As always tables will be set and beverages provided for those who wish to enjoy lunch during the recital. Asbury UMC is handicapped accessible from its rear parking lot entrance. For information, call 740-363-3611.

Moore Road to close

The Delaware County Engineer’s office will be closing Moore Road between Concord Road and State Route 745 for a culvert replacement. The work will begin on March 6 and is scheduled to reopen on March 9.
