Boots to Business event slated

Boots to Business Reboot is coming to the Delaware on Thursday, March 30.

Veterans, service members and spouses are urged to take advantage of this entrepreneurial training program offered by the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The event is from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the American Legion, 60 Big Run Road, Delaware.

Veterans have the character, discipline and skills needed to succeed as small business owners and entrepreneurs. Boots to Business Reboot gives you the tools to get started by offering participants valuable business skills and tips. The course is taught by industry experts, top professors and officials from the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Road closings planned

The Delaware County Engineer will be closing Steitz Road between Hyatts Road and Home Road for a culvert replacement. The road will close on Monday, March 13 and reopen on Thursday, March 16.

Also, East Powell Road between Hickory Ridge Court and Bale Kenyon Road will be closing for road reconstruction. The road will close on Monday, March 13 and reopen on Friday, April 28.

Family fun carnival coming

Delaware City Schools and the Second Ward Community Initiative (SWCI) will hold a free family fun carnival. The Theme is “Step Right Up.”

This event is scheduled for Saturday, April 22, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will be held at the Second Ward Community Center and Ross Street Park at 50A Ross Street. There is a scheduled a rain date of Saturday, April 29.

The purpose of this event is to provide families with an afternoon of fun and to provide outreach to friends and neighbors.
