New specialty attorney hired at Wright & Moore

Several months ago, Delaware’s Wright & Moore Law Co. LPA added Ryan Conklin to its agricultural law firm.

With the addition of Conklin, Wright & Moore is able to specialize in two new practice areas— agritourism law and agricultural employment law.

Conklin has specialty knowledge in the area of agritourism law. A spokesman for the company said that Wright & Moore recognizes that the agritourism industry is growing drastically and, as a result, there are an increasing number of clients with a need for legal direction. The firm’s services now include: audits of agritourism businesses, liability minimization strategies, resolving zoning issues with local authorities, crisis planning, and proper hiring, training and orientation procedures for employees.

Conklin also has been working alongside fellow Wright & Moore attorney, Kent Jorgensen, to confront the agricultural employment law demands of clients.

Conklin will also continue the firm’s work in estate, succession and business planning.

Conklin grew up on his family’s small dairy farm in Plain City. He attended The Ohio State University where he served as president of Alpha Gamma Sigma fraternity, the Agribusiness Club and the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Student Council. He was a member of the Ohio State Dairy Challenge team, which achieved a platinum rating, and the title of co-national champion.

Before graduating with his degree in animal sciences and agribusiness and applied economics, Conklin was selected as a Top Ten Senior for the college, and awarded Ohio State Outstanding Senior.

After finishing his undergraduate degree, Conklin pursued his master’s degree in agricultural education at the University of Florida. During his two-year tenure in Gainesville, Conklin also studied agricultural and natural resource law.

After obtaining his master’s degree in 2012, Conklin attended Michigan State University’s law school. While there, he completed internships with the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Farm Credit Mid-America, Ohio Farm Bureau Federation and Wright & Moore.

Conklin passed the July 2015 Ohio bar examination and was sworn into the practice of law on Nov. 16, 2015, during a special session of the Ohio Supreme Court.

Wright & Moore is located at 92 N. Sandusky St., Suite 300.
