Tuesday’s fatal traffic crash in Delaware County not caused by snowy weather, according to state troopers.

Troopers from the Delaware post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of State Route 61 and State Route 656 was not caused by a snow storm.

Beverly K. Gillespie, 44, of Columbus, was traveling south on SR 656 when she failed to stop at a stop sign and was T-boned by a Chevy 4500 driven by Rodney A. Henderson, 52, of Cardington, troopers reported Tuesday evening.

Gillespie was transported to St. Ann’s Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

Gillespie’s passenger, Annikia S. Hawkins, 31, of Columbus, was also transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries, troopers said.

The occupants of the truck were unharmed in the crash.

Troopers said Gillespie was not wearing her seat belt.
