POLICE BLOTTER

Delaware police report:

A man threatened to burn down a family member’s Sunbury Road residence Wednesday afternoon. A family member told police he threatened to assault the resident and burn down the house before he was asked to leave. Officers located and confronted the man in the area of the Ohio Department of Transportation building on William Street. During the confrontation, the man held an object he claimed was a knife to his throat, challenging officers to use force against him. After negotiations, he was taken into custody without incident and transported to Grady Memorial Hospital for a behavioral health check. He was later hospitalized for behavioral issues. No charges were filed but police said he will likely face charges at a later date.

Brothers living in a River Crest Drive apartment reported Wednesday night that several items had been stolen from their home over the last several days. The stolen items included a gun, cash and tools. One of the men told police that there had been several guests at the home over the last few days. A report was filed and an investigation is ongoing.
