Delaware County District Library (DCDL) is holding a community discussion on the value of character in society. DCDL Director George Needham and Leadership Developer Jack Slavinski will be leading a town hall style dialogue about how character is developed and informs life choices for better or worse.

“In a world of internet trolls, questionable business dealings, and great uncertainty, character is the foundation for a stronger society,” said Needham. “We hope these programs will start a dialogue about how character is formed and its importance.”

Needham and Slavinski will be at the Delaware Main Library, 84. E Winter St., on Tuesday, April 4 at 7 p.m.

Geared for teens and adults who believe in making a positive impact in their community, this discussion will touch on questions such as:

• How do we define “character?”

• What is the power and impact of character?

• How can we systematically develop character?

• What are the many traits of character, and how do they affect our behavioral choices?

• How can I teach, coach, and mentor others?

These discussions aim to help people understand character and how it contributes to behavior. A true conversation for the community-minded, DCDL expects participation and growth in each session.

Additionally, there will be opportunities for role-playing to help teens and adults test situations where the choices we make can affect character.
