Some children brought Easter baskets, others brought buckets, some even brought shopping bags – whatever they could fill with candy-filled Easter eggs during last Saturday’s Genoa Township Easter Egg Hunt. Genoa Township Trustee Karl Gephardt, in his remarks before the event began, said the township’s annual Easter Egg Hunt is likely the fastest athletic event ever held on the Westerville Central High School Football Field. The hunt begins at 11 a.m. and by 11:02 children in age groups between one and 10 years old have swept the field clean of 15,000 eggs. Gephardt also said last Saturday’s event drew a record crowd. The Village of Galena Easter Egg Hunt will be held this Saturday, April 15, at Ruffner Park in Galena. The Galena Easter Egg Hunt is a rain-or-shine event that begins at 1 p.m. Also this Saturday, members of Sunbury’s VFW Post 8736 will hold their annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Big Walnut High School football stadium. Signups are from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The Easter Egg Hunt for real hard-boiled colored eggs begins at 1 p.m. followed by drawings for prizes.
