Work on SR 315 postponed

The State Route 315 culvert replacements between Orange Road and Home Road have been postponed indefinitely. This work will not begin on May 8.

First Thursday Series presents organist

On Thursday, May 4, at 12:15 p.m., the First Thursday Noontime Recital Series sponsored by Asbury United Methodist Church will welcome Carol Ann Bradlely, organist at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Marble Cliff.

For her program Ms. Bradley has selected works by Paul Manz, Maria Theresa von Paradis, and Johann Sebastian Bach. Prior to coming to Our Lady of Victory, for many years Ms. Bradley served as Minister of Music at North Broadway United Methodist Church.

As always, tables will be set and beverages provided for those who wish to enjoy lunch during the recital. Asbury UMC is handicapped accessible from its rear parking lot entrance.

LWV plans annual meeting

The League of Women Voters of Delaware County will hold its 2017 Annual Meeting Wednesday, May 17 at Kinsale Golf Club, 3737 Village Club Dr., Powell with cocktails at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m.

After a short business meeting, Dr. Thomas Suddes of Ohio University’s school of journalism will speak on the Ohio political outlook for 2018, and gerrymandering.

The public is welcome. The League of Woman Voters is a non-partisan organization which advocates for

voting rights for all and for a well-informed citizenry. We welcome both men and women as members.

Road closings slated

The Delaware County Engineer’s office will be closing Perfect Road between Centerburg Road and N. Old 3C Road for bridge reconstruction.

Also closing Fredricks Road between Patrick Road and Olive Green Road for bridge reconstruction. The roads will close Monday, May 8 and are scheduled to open Friday, June 16.

Charity golf outing planned

Grace Clinic of Delaware will benefit from a four-man scramble golf outing Friday, May 5 at Delaware Golf Club.

It begins at 11:30 a.m. and cost is $75 per player and includes a cart, 18 holes of golf, lunch and dessert. A $1,000 hole-in-one contest will be held. Online registration is available at graceclinicfundraiser.com.
