The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious death that was discovered Wednesday afternoon.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that on Wednesday at 12:16 p.m., an unresponsive female was found by housekeeping staff of America Best Value Inn & Suites located at 7323 State Route 37 in Sunbury. The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office responded with EMS to the scene.

The deceased woman has been identified as Christy Brand, 37, of Columbus, the Sheriff’s Office reported Wednesday.

The case is currently under investigation by the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office and is considered a suspicious death, officials said.
