Road to close

The Delaware County Engineer will be closing Gorsuch Road between Harlem Road and Miller Paul Road for a culvert replacement. The road will close on Monday, June 12 and is scheduled to open on Friday, July 7.

Flag disposal ceremony set

Flag Day is June 14, 2017. Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1095 will present a flag disposal ceremony June 11, at 2 p.m. in front of the main entrance to the Delaware YMCA.

Portions of the U. S. Flag Code will be presented on proper treatment and display of the flag, along with proper disposal; which is to destroy by burning with dignity and respect.

Flags that are no longer serviceable will be burned on site in barrels. Flags that need destroyed, may be dropped off at any fire station in Delaware County. All fire stations will accept flags every day, year-round.

You may also bring any flags that need disposed to the ceremony and attend. U. S. flag code booklets will be available for those that wish to have one. An American Flag folding will be presented, along with a reading on the meaning of the folds. VVA1095 Honor Guard will provide a rifle volley.
