Delaware police report:

A man with an active arrest warrant appeared at the Delaware Municipal Court Clerk’s window Thursday morning. The clerk alerted a court bailiff, who attempted to take the man into custody, but the man fled downstairs and out the front door. He was arrested by court staff and Delaware Police Officers in his car while it was still in the parking lot. He was charged with obstructing official business.

Officers responded to the playground of Carlisle Elementary School Thursday afternoon to investigate a report of two children fighting. Police made contact with a 10-year-old and a 12-year-old and learned they had an ongoing dispute over basketball. Police learned the two students had fought the day before and Thursday and contacted the children’s parents. No charges have been filed at this time.

A man called police and reported he was hearing voices Thursday evening at his home on Joy Avenue. Police found the man was having a mental health crisis and took him to Grady Memorial Hospital for an evaluation.

A juvenile was throwing plastic chairs Thursday evening at his home on Eaton Street. The boy had broken two windows by the time police arrived and police learned he was suffering from a behavioral health episode. A report was taken to document the incident but no charges were filed.
