Pavement marking installations underway

The city of Delaware started pavement marking installations in the downtown area on Sunday. The work, weather permitting, will take place 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. with completion set for July 21. The project could cause potential delays and limited access to some areas and parking stalls.

Clean up on U.S. 23

There will be a clean up at the U.S. 23 from state Route 315 to Pennsylvania Avenue. Work will start Monday, weather permitting. The project could cause intermittent lane restrictions and potential delays.

Columbia gas to install test stations

Columbia gas will install test stations at selected locations throughout the city starting Monday. The project could cause potential use restrictions and delays.

City meetings this week

The city of Delaware will have two public meetings this week at City Hall, 1 S. Sandusky St. The Sister City Advisory Board will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, and the Civil Service Commission will meet 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Farmers’ Market returns Wednesday

Main Street Delaware’s downtown Farmers’ Markets continue this week. The market will be open from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday along Sandusky Street.

Cheshire Road work to start this week

The widening of Cheshire Road and an installation of a roundabout between Balmoral Drive and Gregory Road is scheduled to start Saturday. The project will cause road closures with detours. Completion is scheduled for Aug. 15.

Bulk-item collection Thursday

The city of Delaware will collect large, bulky items on Thursday, July 13. Residents can pay $25 for up to three bulk items per stop. Residents must pay and schedule in advance at the city’s Public Works facility, 440 East William St. Bulk-item collection is the second Tuesday of each month.

DACC Board meets Thursday

The Delaware Area Career Center Board of Education will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 20 at the South Campus, 4565 Columbus Pike. Meeting agendas are posted on the DACC website www.delawareareacc.org.

4-H garage sale starts Friday

The Delaware County 4-H garage sale is planned for July 14-15 and the county fairgrounds. The sale will be open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the junior fair building. Donations for the sale will be accepted at the junior fair building from 3 to 8 p.m. each day July 10-12. For information, email [email protected].
