The Delaware County Fair will be holding a window decorating contest this September to promote the Delaware County Fair.

Morgan Jolliff, an intern at the Delaware County Fair, said Monday that there had been window decoration contests in the past but not in the last few years.

“We’ve had it before but it wasn’t through [The Delaware County Fair],” Jolliff said. “This year we figured it would be nice to get the community involved.”

Participating business must have a window display with the Delaware County Fair as the theme and the tag “@littlebrownjug” must be displayed somewhere on the window.

Participants must register by Aug. 1 and must have completed their window decorations by Sept. 1. The displays must stay up until at least Sept. 16 but will preferably remain until after the end of the fair on Sept. 23, Jolliff said. Entrants must send a picture of their window design to Jolliff via email at [email protected]

Jolliff reports the general public will vote for their favorite display through the Delaware County Fair Facebook Page (@littlebrownjug.) Voting will begin on Sept. 1 and will run through Sept. 9 at Noon. The winners will be announced on Sept. 11.

The prizes for the contest are as follows:

First Place: 6-person box for all 5 days of racing at the fair, 2 weekly fair passes and a 4 pack of Cincinnati Reds tickets. $800 value

Second Place: 4 tickets for Thursday to either Top of Stretch or Backstretch hospitality tent, 6 daily fair passes, and 4 pack of Cincinnati Reds tickets. $475 Value

Third Place: 4 tickets for Wednesday to either Top of Stretch or Backstretch hospitality tent, 4 daily passes, and 4 daily passes to Columbus Zoo. $250 Value

Jolliff recommended that business who need help paint should contact local high school art teachers or art students at Ohio Wesleyan University.
