Concord trustees meet Monday

The Concord Township Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 7 at the Concord Township Administrative Building, 6385 Home Road, Delaware. The purpose of the special meeting will be to approve a resolution to proceed for a road levy renewal, and approve a road improvement change order.

Stroll into history

Stroll Down Sandusky Street is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 9. Delaware County Historical Society board members Benny Shoults and Roger Koch will lead a tour of the history and architecture of the north two blocks of Sandusky Street from Central to William, discussing how the downtown developed from 1810 through today. The tour starts at 7 p.m. at the Delaware County Courthouse, 91 N. Sandusky St. Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 17. Register online at Eventbrite.com. Learn to research your house

House Research 101 will be offered on Thursday, Aug. 10 at 7 p.m. to help Delaware County residents research the history of their property. Librarians and volunteers will work with individuals to access information in the many resources available at the Cryder Research Library, 157 E. William St. Registration is required and there is a limit of 10 properties; the registration fee for each property is $25. Register online at Eventbrite.com. Roads closing for repairs

The Delaware County Engineer has closing the following side roads off of Sawmill Parkway for pavement repairs through Aug. 7:

• Attucks Drive West between Sawmill Parkway and Brewster Lane

• Attucks Drive East Sawmill Parkway and Liberty Crossing Drive

• Brewster Lane between Sawmill Parkway and 10149 Brewster Lane

Sawmill-Hyatts roundabout closing

The Delaware County Engineer is closing the roundabout on Sawmill Parkway and Hyatts Road for resurfacing. The road will close on Wednesday, Aug. 9 and is scheduled to reopen on Friday, Aug. 11.

Farm Pesticide Disposal day

The Ohio Department of Agriculture is sponsoring a collection for farmers wishing to dispose of unwanted pesticides on Aug. 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Delaware County Fairgrounds (entrance off U.S. 23), 236 Pennsylvania Ave.

The pesticide collection and disposal service is free. Only farm chemicals will be accepted. Paint, antifreeze, solvents, and household or non-farm pesticides will not be accepted.

Pesticide collections are sponsored by the department in conjunction with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. To pre-register, or for more information, contact the Ohio Department of Agriculture at 614-728-6987.

AEP crews to do night work

American Electric Power will be replacing poles and wiring Aug. 8-9 on River Street between midnight and 5 a.m. each day. River Street will be closed during the work and U.S. 23 access will be reduced due to lane closures.
