Delaware police report:

Police were summoned to Grady Memorial Hospital Monday around 3:24 a.m. after it was reported that a man was fighting with staff. Police arrived and learned the man was initially brought to the hospital for swallowing screws, but was actively fighting staff. Police and OhioHealth officers assisted doctors in restraining the man for treatment. A charge of misconduct at an emergency will be filed in Delaware Municipal Court.

Officers responded to a Central Avenue home Monday afternoon to investigate an assault. Police learned an 11 year old had assaulted in-home-health-care staff and was threatening them with a knife. The boy was taken into custody and taken to the Central Ohio Youth Center in Marysville. He was referred to Delaware County Juvenile Court for follow up. Assault and disorderly conduct charges are pending.
