OhioHealth has announced that it is opening a new urgent care center in Delaware and will close an existing location in Lewis Center.

The new OhioHealth Urgent Care will open in Delaware on Tuesday, Sept. 19. The facility will be located at 1710 Columbus Pike (U.S. 23) near the Delaware Community Plaza, south of Delaware.

In a press release issued this week, OhioHealth officials said the Lewis Center location — at 24 Hidden Ravines Drive, just off U.S. 23 — will close its doors permanently at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 18.

According to OhioHealth officials, the nine associates who previously worked at the Lewis Center Urgent Care will have the opportunity to relocate to the new Delaware Urgent Care. No jobs will be eliminated as part of the move.

“It is important for OhioHealth to serve communities with the right care, at the right time, at the right place,” said Glenn Williams, medical director of OhioHealth Urgent Care. “Urgent care is a critically important part of the continuum of healthcare, complimenting primary care and emergency care. Patients in the Lewis Center community will continue to have access to urgent care nearby at the OhioHealth Polaris Urgent Care and now the OhioHealth Delaware Urgent Care.”

Polaris Urgent Care is located at 1120 Polaris Parkway.
