Gallant Farm hosting fifth anniversary party

Preservation Parks’ upcoming Gallant Farm programs offer something for adults and children alike.

The following programs are all free and require no advance registration.

• Gallant Farm’s Fifth Anniversary, Saturday, Oct. 7, noon to 4 p.m. Preservation Parks is hosting a celebration at Gallant Farm to see how the 1930s style farm has grown since opening in 2012. Visitors will be able to meet the chicken and sheep that call Gallant Farm home as well as help celebrate with cake, and ice cream. There will also be photos and videos of what’s been going on at Gallant since its opening. All ages welcome.

• Homeschool at the Farm: Apples from A to Z, Wednesday, Oct. 11, 10 a.m. Farm visitors will have a chance to learn all about this versatile fruit. Guests will be able to taste some different varieties of apples while baking some treats. Ages 6 to 12. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

• Preschool Farm Friends: Apple ABC’s, Thursday, Oct. 12, 10 a.m. Apples are not only delicious, they are good for us, too. Preservation Parks invites children ages 4 to 5 to come to the farm and taste some apples and deserts made with them while completing apple-themed crafts. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
