State Route 37 culvert work next week

The Ohio Department of Transportation will be conducting a culvert replacement project on State Route 37 between Burnt Pond Road and Tyler Road next week. That stretch of roadway will be closed in both directions at 8 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 23 and reopen at 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27.

Homecoming at OWU this weekend

Ohio Wesleyan University will celebrate homecoming Friday through Sunday, Oct. 20 to 22. This year marks the 175th anniversary of the university. Various groups will be hosting reunions. The Battling Bishops Tailgate is scheduled for noon on Oct. 21 at Selby Stadium ahead of the football game against Denison. The men’s and women’s soccer and rugby teams and women’s field hockey team have home matches that weekend. For information about homecoming activities, visit www.owu.edu.

Evening with George at the library

The Friends of the Delaware County District Library will host an Evening with George at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at the main library, 84 E. Winter St. Library Director George Needham will provide an update about the library and answer questions from those in attendance. Tours of the library will be available. Refreshments will be served. Historical Corn at Gallant Farm

Preservation Parks presents Historical Corn on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 10 a.m. at Gallant Farm. Boo at the Zoo starts Friday

Boo at the Zoo returns for Halloween, beginning Friday, Oct. 20. The “merry-not-scary” event will be open Oct. 20-22 and Oct. 27-29. Following is the schedule for Boo at the Zoo: Friday, 5 to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Special regions will be dressed up for Halloween. Trick or Treat Trail at Deer Haven Park

Preservation Parks invites guests to the Trick or Treat Trail on Sunday, Oct. 22 at Deer Haven Park. Come in costume to gather treats from characters along the s-p-o-o-k-y trail from 1 to 4 p.m. There will be pumpkins to decorate, hayrides to enjoy, & visitors can vote to decide the winner of the build a scarecrow contest. Friends of the Library anniversary
