One of the owners of Fairview Memorial Park pleaded guilty to 15 counts of theft Friday, just days before she and her husband are scheduled to stand trial.

Arminda K. Martin, 46, appeared in Delaware County Common Pleas Court and entered a guilty plea to 15 counts of theft, one third-degree felony, eight fourth-degree felonies, and six fifth-degree felonies. The remaining charges, including one count of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, a first-degree felony, and 43 theft charges, were dismissed.

At the hearing, Martin admitted to taking money for items at Fairview, such as grave markers or plots, but never delivering the items or putting the money in a trust.

Assistant Prosecutor Cory Goe told the court that Arminda and her husband, Theodore, frequently withdrew the money and gambled it at a casino in Pennsylvania.

A sentencing hearing was scheduled for Dec. 8 at 2.m.

Theodore is scheduled to change his plea in Delaware County Common Pleas Court on Monday at 3:30 p.m.

Arminda was out on bond Friday.
