Boo at the Zoo’s final weekend

Boo at the Zoo returns for Halloween. The “merry-not-scary” event will be open Oct. 27-29. Following is the schedule for Boo at the Zoo: Friday, 5 to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Special regions will be dressed up for Halloween. Sweet Feet Walk/Pumpkin Run is Saturday

The Delaware Community Center YMCA and the Foot and Ankle Wellness Center will present the Sweet Feet Walk and Pumpkin Run and Halloween party at Mingo Park, 500 E. Lincoln Park, Delaware. All proceeds benefit Healthy Weight and Your Child, a program through the YMCA. Following is the schedule of events: 2:50 p.m., pet costume contest; 3 p.m., run/walk; 3:45 p.m., kid races; 4 to 7 p.m., trunk or treat. City of Delaware police and fire department personnel will conduct demonstrations. Treats include grilled hotdogs, cookies, a bonfire for roasting marshmallows, and a cartload of pumpkins for the picking.

Kennel Club presents dog show

The Delaware Kennel Club All Breed and Junior Showmanship Dog Show is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 28-29 at the Delaware County Fairgrounds. The 2016 show featured about 1,000 dogs representing 135 breeds. Winners of Best in Breed will compete to win Best in Show. Admission is free. Parking costs $5. For information, call 740-815-2631. Friends of the Library annual meeting

The Friends of the Delaware County District Library’s annual meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 2 in the main library’s community room, 84 E. Winter St., Delaware. Newspaper columnist Joe Blundo will be the guest speaker. The meeting is open to the public. Visitors who become members of the Friends of the Delaware County District Library during the annual meeting will receive a free Friends book bag. William St. UMC bicentennial

The Brass Band of the Western Reserve will perform a free concert as part of William Street United Methodist Church’s 200th anniversary celebration on Saturday, Nov. 4 at the Hayes High School auditorium. The concert begins at 7 p.m. and is the kickoff to the church’s year-long celebration. A Capellooza Nov. 4 at OWU

The fifth annual A Cappellooza is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 at Ohio Wesleyan University’s Gray Chapel. The voices-only concert will feature classic rock theme songs performed by student a cappella groups from various colleges and universities. The event also will feature a performance by the a cappella group The Filharmonic. Advance general admission tickets cost $5. Order tickets by emailing [email protected] with your name, phone number, and amount of tickets. Tickets cost $7 at the door, $3 for seniors, children, and non-OWU students. The concert will be free for OWU and Wittenberg University students and OWU employees with a valid ID.

Evening with George on Nov. 1

The Friends of the Delaware County District Library will host an Evening with George at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at the main library, 84 E. Winter St. Library Director George Needham will provide an update about the library and answer questions from those in attendance. Tours of the library will be available. Refreshments will be served. Chili Cook Off at Shale Hollow

Preservation Parks is hosting a Chili Cook Off at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4 at Shale Hollow Park, 6320 Artesian Run, Lewis Center. Whether visitors have the best chili recipe, or if they just want to enjoy a variety of delicious chilies, all are welcome at the first ever Preservation Parks Chili Cook Off. Castle Arts Affair returns

The Arts Castle’s Castle Arts Affair is scheduled for Nov. 3-12. The preview party is planned for 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 2 at the Arts Castle. Admission is $45 per person.
