A Cappellooza set for Saturday at OWU

Ohio Wesleyan University’s Campus Programming Board will host its fifth annual A Cappellooza voices-only showcase.

The show is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 in Gray Chapel at University Hall, 61 S. Sandusky Street, Delaware.

“The event will be hosted by Anthony Peddle,” said Dina Daltorio, student involvement coordinator of student activities. “He is an Ohio Wesleyan University alumnus.”

Daltorio said the featured performance will be by the five-piece vocal a cappella group The Filharmonic. The group is composed of semifinalists from NBC’s Sing-Off and was featured in the film “Pitch Perfect 2.”

The concert features classic rock theme songs performed by student a cappella groups from various colleges and universities. Pitch Black, The Jaywalkers, and OWtsiders are three groups from Ohio Wesleyan. The Witten Crew and Just Eve are from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio.

“The event is open to the community of Delaware,” Daltorio said.”Gray Chapel’s lower level seats 744. We hope to fill it.”

Tickets to A Cappellooza may be purchased at the door. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Admission is free for OWU students and employees with valid university ID.

Tickets will be $7 at the door, $3 for seniors, children, and non-OWU students.

Tickets are $5 for general admission if reserved before the concert, by contacting CPB at [email protected] with your name, phone number, and amount of tickets, or picking them up at First Friday on Nov. 3. You must have a photo ID to receive tickets.
