A pair of third-grade students at Carlisle Elementary School cast their votes for their favorite book Friday morning in the school’s library. The students were choosing their favorite book for the Buckeye Book Award and were given a sticker for voting. The nominees were “Harry Potter and The Cursed Child” by J. K. Rowling, John Tiffany and Jack Thorne; “License to Thrill” by Dan Gutman; “Pax” by Sara Pennypacker; “Wild Robot” by Peter Brown; and “Some Kind of Courage” by Dan Gemeinhart. The students in this class chose “Pax” as their winner. Their votes will be added to the rest of the students in Ohio to determine the award winner.
