Delaware police report:

A man was stumbling in the road in the area of U.S. 36 and Springer Woods Monday morning. When police arrived, they found the 54-year-old man lying in the roadway. Police report he was heavily intoxicated and unable to care for himself. A medic from the Delaware Fire Department was requested and the man was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. Later, he was issued a summons to Delaware Municipal Court to a face a charge of disorderly conduct by intoxication.

Miscellaneous items were stolen from a vehicle while it was parked on Ross Street overnight Sunday. The owner told police that change, postage stamps and coupons were among the stolen items. Police determined the victim’s nephew was responsible. The nephew, a 38-year-old man, was arrested and charged with petty theft. The items were recovered.

A man reported that his car had been stolen from his home on Silver Maple Drive Monday morning. Officers stopped the vehicle soon after and discovered the driver did not have a valid driver’s license. The owner of the car reported that he knows the driver and declined to press charges against her. However, officers arrested the woman for driving with a suspended license.

Powell police report:

A puppy was left inside a car for more than five hours Thursday morning in the area of West Case Avenue. The owner was cited for cruelty to animals. The puppy survived.
