Leena Madan, chief operating officer of geoAMPS, has been named to the advisory board of the Delaware County chapter of the American Red Cross.
A resident of Delaware, Madan has been an active supporter of the American Red Cross for several years.
Under Madan’s leadership, geoAMPS and its employees have supported the important work of the Red Cross.
In 2012, after much of the East Coast and Midwest were devastated by Hurricane Sandy, Madan organized a fund-raising effort. For each “like” geoAMPS received on its Facebook page, the company made a donation to Red Cross. The funds were committed to hurricane relief.
The “Power of the Purse” is the largest annual fund-raiser of the Delaware County chapter of the Red Cross. Madan organized geoAMPS sponsorship of this event. She also donated a purse to be auctioned at the event. Madan, along with women employed at geoAMPS, helped the fund-raising effort by bidding on purses during the auction.
On Feb. 12, geoAMPS will host a blood drive sponsored by Red Cross. The event will be at the company office, 3821 Attucks Drive, in the Wedgewood Office Park in Powell. Local residents are invited to join geoAMPS employees in donating blood from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Those who donate will have the chance to win $2,000 in Kroger gift cards for gas or groceries.
To schedule an appointment to donate, call 800-RED CROSS, email Caroline at email@example.com or visit redcrossblood.org, with the sponsor code: geoAMPS.
