Gose sworn in to full Sunbury council term

Members of Sunbury Village Council held a brief special meeting recently to approve a minor but time-sensitive budget adjustment.

However, the first item on the Jan. 27 meeting agenda was the swearing-in of council member Tim Gose, who was selected during a Jan. 20 council meeting to serve a four-year term.

Gose has lived with his family in Sunbury since 1999. He and his wife, Sandra, have raised two children – Kyle, a 2015 Big Walnut graduate and current Ohio University freshman, and Caroline, a junior at Big Walnut High School.

Gose, a Shelby, Ohio, native, said his interests include reading, golfing, hiking, running and servicing the needs of his parish, St. John Neumann, where he is active as a lector, greeter, mentor, former youth group leader and council member. Gose has also spent many years as a youth sports coach in the Big Walnut community.

Gose has been a member of the Sunbury Planning & Zoning Commission on two separate occasions — for a combined nine years — and is a member of the Westerville Sunrise Rotary Club where he is active in its “I-Can” youth-mentoring program. He also sits on the Rotary Foundation Board as the current secretary and is a past board member of Friendship Village of Columbus.

A graduate of The Ohio State University with a finance degree, Gose worked in the insurance field his entire career, which began in 1990.

Gose spent 20 years in the claims business and the last 5½ years as an insurance agent for the Pfister Insurance Agency, where he is licensed to sell business, home, auto, life and health insurance.

The first item on the agenda during the Jan. 27 Sunbury Village Council special meeting was the swearing in of new council member Tim Gose, right, by village Solicitor David Brehm.
