Delaware police report:

A woman said she was assaulted over cigarettes Wednesday morning at her home on Chelsea Street. She reported the father of her child came to the home and they started arguing. During the argument, the man assaulted her, she told police. She was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital where she was treated and discharged a short time later. Police spoke to the man who acknowledged the argument but denied the assault. The case was forwarded to the Delaware city prosecutor for review.

A Hayes High School student received a threatening message from an adult Wednesday afternoon. The student’s case worker from Delaware County Children’s Services was given the police report.

Delaware County sheriff’s deputies report:

A man claimed he was thrown off a moving train Thursday. Deputies spoke to the man, who had minor injuries, and he alleged he had been pushed off a train by another person Thursday morning. Deputies stopped a train in the area of Henry Road later that day and spoke to the crew on the train. An investigation is ongoing.
