Armed with a drip torch, Preservation Parks of Delaware County park tech Blake Davenport walks behind a fire he ignited Tuesday morning during a prescribed burn at Gallant Woods Park on Buttermilk Hill Road in Delaware. According to the park district, “The fire manages growth and helps to reduce the risk of wildfires. It can also help restore nutrients and lead to more desirable plant growth in the future.”
