Staff Report

Delaware’s Robert T. Secrest AMVETS Post 102 and Raymond B. Austin American Legion Post 115 have announced that they will both now call the AMVETS Post 102 facility home.

American Legion Post 115 has been renting the log cabin at the Delaware County Fairgrounds two days each month. With this agreement, the American Legion Post will be using the AMVETS Post facility at 485 Park Ave. in Delaware, which is open seven days a week.

Both posts have active and vibrant memberships which will benefit from this new arrangement, representatives say.

To celebrate the agreement, a pig roast lunch and formal signing program will be held on Saturday, Aug. 8, from noon to 3 p.m., with lunch served starting about 12:30 p.m. and the signing ceremony about 2 pm.

For members of either AMVETS Post 102 or American Legion Post 115 — and their families — the cost for lunch will be $3 per person. All other area active military or veterans and their families are invited to attend for $5 per person for the full lunch. In recognition of their service, all World War II veterans may eat free of charge.

While reservations are not required, organizers ask that you call Lori Clark at Post 102 at 740-363-8316 by Aug. 1 if you plan to attend. Money will be collected at the door.
