Megan O’Callaghan was unanimously selected by Dublin City Council to be the next city manager, starting Oct. 1.
O’Callaghan was previously Dublin’s public service director and most recently its deputy city manager. She has served Dublin since 2014. She was responsible for planning and executing Dublin’s Capital Improvements Program, the city said. This included a pedestrian and bicycle bridge over the Scioto River.
Prior to Dublin, O’Callaghan worked at the City of Columbus and the Ohio Department of Transportation. She has degrees from Ohio State and Capital universities. In addition, she is a member of the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission.
“I am honored that Dublin City Council selected me to serve as the City’s sixth city manager,” O’Callaghan said on the city’s website. “Dublin is a vibrant and friendly city known for safety, inclusivity, innovation, economic vitality and natural beauty. As a resident and long-time employee, I am deeply committed to this community and have a vested interest in providing the best quality of life and environment in which our residents and businesses can thrive.”
O’Callaghan succeeds Dana McDaniel, who will help with the transition until Feb. 1, 2023.

Dublin has a population of nearly 50,000 and is home to more than 20 corporate headquarters and 4,300 businesses. “Dublin is ranked the number one small city in Ohio and is consistently named one of the safest cities in the nation,” said the city website.
The city’s “Sundays at Scioto” outdoor concert series continues at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 4 at Scioto Park Amphitheater, 7377 Riverside Drive, Dublin, with The Little Mermen, a New York City-based Disney cover band. The band performs songs from Disney movies, with a cast of princesses joining them on stage. Audience members are encouraged to attend in Disney costume and sing along.
Admission is free (donations accepted). Feel free to bring blankets and lawn chairs, as well as picnic items. There will be food vendors on site, with the proceeds benefiting the nonprofit Dublin Arts Council. There are two other concerts (at 5:30 p.m.) in the series — The British Invasion on Sept. 25 and The Wildflowers (a Tom Petty tribute band) on Oct. 9.
