Volunteers made IronMan successful

To the editor:

Congratulations to the citizens of Delaware for hosting a national event last Sunday – the IronMan 70.3 Ohio.

Over 2,600 athletes and their families made Delaware ground zero for a phenomenal athletic contest involving swimming, cycling and running. For this to be as successful as it was required coordination and cooperation among many community and government agencies and with neighboring counties (Marion and Morrow). Very impressive.

The organization strength necessary to make such a complex event successful made me appreciate the city’s administrative and political regional clout.

Smiling faces and helpful volunteers making sure everyone was going in the right direction with the right information.

Thank you for a job well done.
