Trump’s silence equals approval

It has been nearly two weeks since a Minnesota mosque was bombed and President Trump has been silent about it. However, less than an hour after a car intentionally rammed into protesters at a White Power rally in Charlottesville, Virginia killing one person and injuring 19 others, Trump tweeted, “There is no place for this kind of violence in America.” Why ignore violence against Muslims in America?

For Muslim Americans like me, this indicates that violence against Muslims doesn’t matter and that President Trump is a hypocrite.

Unlike President Trump, Minnesota governor Mark Dayton visited the mosque, condemned the bombing, and called it “an act of terrorism” and vowed to do all he could to put a stop to such things. Minnesota Senator Al Franklin called the bombing “an attack on all of us.”

It does not take a rocket scientist to figure it out that Trump’s continued silence over the bombing of the Minnesota mosque is nothing more than tacit approval.
